School Meals and Healthy Eating

We aim to provide a healthy meal for all our children. The number of children eating a school meal is always very high, reflecting the quality and variety of the meals served. The contract for providing the meals is with North Lincolnshire Catering, but our Headteacher works very closely with the cook to ensure a high quality meal is produced.  The school aims to provide a pleasant environment in which pupils may enjoy a healthy and nutritious meal which meets the food based and nutrition based standards set out by the government.  We want our food to look good, taste good and do you good...

The school achieves this by offering:
  • Four different vegetables are available every day, and often up to six. Children must select at least two.
  • Salads are available every day.
  • Two main courses are available every day with a vegetarian option, along with two home made puddings.
  • Fresh fruit is always available, as is fresh fruit salad and yogurts.
Parents may look at the menu by following the link below.  We do aim to follow the menu, but we do try to adjust the food prepared in light of demand and any supply issues.

Please note that menus usually change twice a year.

The menus are indicative of what we will serve and are modified to take into account pupil preferences and fresh food deliveries.

The meal service we offer is of the very highest standard and involves a choice menu. To ensure this is efficient and affordable parents must purchase meals for a minimum of one week.

Clearly in the case of an emergency we are happy to provide a meal.

All meals must be paid for in advance.
