Catherine Parr

(1512 to 1548)

In 1543 Henry VIII married his sixth wife, Catherine Parr. She was 31 years old and had been widowed twice before. Catherine was well educated and brought a sense of order to the royal court.

Catherine did not have any children. Henry was now suffering from many ailments and she nursed him in his final years.

Catherine supervised Edward’s education and brought the three royal children, Mary, Edward and Elizabeth to live together for the first time.

She outlived Henry VIII.
